Blockheads guide to Farming! :)

 FLAX
Description: Flax is possibly the second- or third-most grown plant in Blockheads (I think). It will grow in almost any climate, and produced both flax seeds and flax.
Grows Best: anywhere on BlockEarth
Animal(s) Spawned: None
Seed Produced: Flax seed(uses: planting, eating, oil); Flax (uses: linen, string)

Flax is, in a way, the "pine tree" of plants. By that I mean that flax grows well in any climate, and it is not very difficult to find because of that. Flax, when planted, is a small green plant that gives you one flax seed and/or perhaps some flax. It grows seeds on top of it that, when chopped down, will produce anywhere from 2-6 flax seeds, I think. It's been a while since I've farmed flax, so bear with me. The top part of flax, that is brown, drops the seeds when cut down. The bottom part, the green part, drops flax and one flax seed. Flax seeds can also be crafted into oil.
The bigger the flax itself (the green part on the bottom) gets, the more seeds will be produced, and the more flax you will get if you chop the flax block (not the seeds). Generally, the best idea is to wait until you have gotten 6 to 9 harvests of the seeds on top before chopping the green flax part.

 CARROTS
Description: Mainly used to spawn donkeys, carrots are probably the most common plant in the Blockheads.
Grows Best: equator
Animal(s) Spawned: donkey
Seed Produced: carrot (uses: planting, eating, spawning donkeys)

The one and only plant to spawn DONKEYS! Carrots are most likely the most planted, farmed, and eaten food in all of the Blockheads. You'll find carrots generally near equators, and donkeys are likely to be nearby. Many people have made donkey subways, donkey "air-ways", and donkey tunnels (to ride donkeys through mountains) in their worlds.

CHILIES
Description: The food of warmth, chilies are the best food to bring to the pole (but the hardest to farm).
Grows Best: equator
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed Produced: chili (uses: planting, eating, warmth)

Chilies are what I like to call the "Food of Warmth". If you don't have a fur coat or the North Pole hat of warmth, it's a good idea to bring with you about a stack of chilies. However, don't try to plant them aboveground near a pole, because they don't grow well near poles due to the cold. And campfires won't help because they'll just burn the chilies. But look out when eating chilies! Eating too much will cause your blockhead to get hurt from burning!

CORN
Description: There isn't really much to say about corn. It's basically just a food.
Grows Best: equator
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed Produced: corn (uses: eating, planting, hearing)

As I have previously said. There's nothing exceptional about corn. Although I'd recommend having about a stack of it on hand just in case. And because I like having at least 99 of each food. Corn is something good to plant for just food, since that's all it does. It doesn't change your temperature, it doesn't produce air, and it doesn't spawn animals. And apparently, ears of corn don't help you hear better!

KELP
Description: Planning on heading to the water depths of an ocean? Or maybe you want to head to the top of the world and beyond, to the un-breathable outer atmospheric layer? Then kelp is the food to bring, providing half a bar of air when eaten! Be sure to stock up before heading off on your daring adventure!
Grows Best: underwater, and it's best of that water doesn't freeze regularly
Animal(s) Spawned: fish, sharks (conditions: 10 blocks deep of water, fish, kelp)
Seed: kelp (uses: eating, planting, breath)

Kelp is a great food to bring when you're going to need air! It also grows really easily, but you have to watch out for fish, which will stop it from growing and eventually eat it, and if your farm is deep enough, look out for sharks too!

SUNFLOWERS
Description: Not very filling, but can be made into oil at the press, this plant is not one to grow if you need food (unless it's all you have).
Grows Best: Equator
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed: sunflower seed(uses: eating, planting, oil)

Sunflowers barely fill up a blockhead, (they fill up about as much as a flax seed,) but since they can't be grown for other things, like flax can be, they're best grown if you need oil.

Blockheads guide to trees! :)

 PINE TREES
Description: Naturally one of the fastest-growing and tallest-growing trees in the game, this tree is best to be farmed for wood and sticks.
Grows Best: in my experience, the pine tree grows best mostly anywhere. The biggest I've seen have been at the equator, but that could be because that's where I always live.
Animal(s) Spawned by Tree: dropbear
Seed: Pine Cone (uses: planting, campfire/kiln fuel)

Pine trees are by far the best trees to farm for wood and sticks, partially due to the fact that they grow quickly and tall, partially because they can live long, the only problem is that they spawn dropbears - so light up your farm and kill the dropbear with an iron sword! They don't need much pruning, if they have adequate light they can grow very fast, and basically cut them down whenever you feel ready. Generally, it's best to wait until you have gotten 20-40 pine ones from the tree first. Usually pinecones grow at random intervals, and not in batches like some fruits grow.

MAPLE TREES
Description: Second-tallest, second-fastest growing tree. It seems that the main reason of a maple tree is because of its growth pattern and looks. Its seeds are almost useless.
Grows Best: usually in between an equator and a pole, I think.
Animal(s) Spawned by Tree: none
Seed: maple seed (uses: planting)

Maple trees are a relatively good tree to grow if you either don't want to grow a pine tree (which is understandable, these are better to grow if you don't want dropbears). They still grow quickly and rather tall, although not as tall nor as fast as a pine tree grows. They're easily manageable, not as wide, and still produce plenty of branches for sticks and logs for wood.

Edit: maple seeds are edible in 1.4!

COCONUT TREES
Description: A tall tree, the taller this tree is the more coconuts it grows on the highest branch at any given time. The coconut tree doesn't grow many branches.
Grows Best: Equator
Animal(s) Spawned by Tree: none
Seed: coconut (uses: planting, eating)

The coconut tree, grown best at equators, is a relatively-fast-growing tree. It grows straight up, and gets only a few branches, which grow at the top. On the very highest branch, coconuts will spawn in "clusters" of multiple at a time, the amount generated defined by the height of the tree. Coconut trees can be grown in sand, compost, or dirt, unlike most trees which can only grow in compost or dirt.

COFFEE CHERRY TREES
This is going to be a big topic.
Description: The infamous coffee cherry tree, grown throughout the world for energy to the tired, food for the hungry, and the ability to live without sleeping. These trees grow slowly, and can die young if not tended for properly. However, they are probably the best trees to grow, if you have the time.
Grows Best: Equator (elsewhere and they grow MUCH smaller)
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed: coffee cherry (uses: crafting green coffee bean, indirectly crafting coffee, eating [food, energy], planting, etc.

MANGO TREES
Description: Trees grown easily for food. Generally their growth pattern is similar to a cross between a maple-tree's growth pattern and a pine tree's growth pattern, I think. Mangos can also be crafted into a yellow pigment.
Grows Best: near equator
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed: mango (uses: planting, eating, pigment)

Mango trees don't have much to be said about. They grow food, they work well if you live at or near the equator. And, of course, you can craft a yellow pigment from the mangos (thanks Nelson)! If anyone can think of something I should say here, post it and I'll try to add it.

CHERRY TREES
Description: DODO's! Must I say more?
Grows Best: between a pole and an equator
Animal(s) Spawned: Dodos
Seed: cherry (uses: planting, eating)

Cherry trees don't grow best, but they can spawn dodos I think. Honestly I think apple trees do better though.

APPLE TREES
Description: EVEN MORE DODOs! Yay!
Grows Best: between a pole and an equator (closer to the pole I think)
Animal(s) Spawned: Dodos
Seed: apple (uses: planting, eating)

Apple trees mass-generate dodos. They grow better in cold places, where it is sometimes snowy and sometimes not. They also grow apples.

LIME TREES
Description: food for mining - limes trees don't generate originally in a world, but you can get limes from mining limestone.
Grows Best: kind of near equator, I'm not entirely sure since I don't grow them too much.
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed: lime (uses: planting, eating)

Lime trees are a rare food to find when mining limestone. When you walk around a world originally, or at any given time unless you planted limes, you will find no lime trees. Don't rely on them for food while mining, though, unless you packed extras. You get an achievement for getting one.

ORANGE TREES
Finally, almost done!
Description: A normalish tree that grows oranges. Good to grow if you need food.
Grows Best: anywhere warm (and aboveground)
Animal(s) Spawned: none
Seed: orange (uses: planting, eating)

A good food to grow and eat, and they don't die all too fast either. Very good source of food unless you live where it's freezing 24/7.

How to survive death! :)

Hi Blockheadians ! :)

I'm sorry for not posting I've been busy with school:( Anyway here is my guide to surviving in Blockheads (from experiences) hope you enjoy!

PVP
A lot of people fear that as soon as they come into a server, they will be attacked by griefers. If so, then go to a better server! Only the best servers will have defense. If you are attacked, however, make sure you're wearing armour. It's good to create a little clique of your friends so you guys can protect each other in this event.

Starvation
Multiplayer, or single player, the first thing you should do when you get warped in is find a food source. After that, build your home nearby so you don't ever get hungry. Also, make sure to get the hat of hunger.

Cold weather
If you spawn in a cold place, dig down. The ground will shield you from the cold. Then later, plant flax or kill mobs to create clothing. If you are traveling over a mountain, you MUST have clothing or the hat of warmth.

Lava
One of the main concerns of death; how are you supposed to make basalt when you're dying every five seconds? Two words; ice torches. Trust me, they help a lot. And when you're almost dead, go up a few blocks, restock on food, and go back down.

Drowning
When you are going swimming, make sure to bring extra food and kelp. Also, make little air pockets in your pond so you can swim there every once in a while to breath.

Space
Just wear a mind control hat it worked for me it will work for you.

Desert heat
Don't wear clothing. Simple :)

Drowning

Space
I'll do one for that later. To much explaining.

Desert heat
Don't wear clothing. Simple

Falling
If you need your blockhead to fall from one place to another, make sure there's a body of water beneath you deeper than one block. It'll break your fall.

Cacti
Need a prickly pear? Instead of climbing the cactus, get on a donkey and jump over it. You can reach much higher as well. Or, you can use ladders.

Chillies/Coffee
If you eat too many chillies or cups of coffee at once, you will be hurt severely. This almost guarantees death, so I suggest not doing this unless you want your BH to commit suicide for some reason. One way to slow down the burning is to completely surround yourself with ice torches. Even then, you probably still will die.

Mobs

Dropbears
Get on a donkey. If you see one, jump up so it can't get you.

Scorpions
They really don't hurt you that bad. Except at night. If you're circumnavigating at night in a desert, immediately make a hole and lock yourself in it till day. Those guys are fearless in the night!

Sharks
Again I'll do that later.

Cave Trolls
Always bring armour when mining deep or cave troll hunting. If you happen to come across one, trap it. Then put a block above where the troll can't reach and shoot at it with a bow and arrow. When going cave troll hunting, bringing a sword is highly recommended. You are forced to continually hit the troll, leaving little time to eat food. Or you could drown it while it's trapped.

Just remember -- If you find yourself in one of these situations and have no backup, then bring a portal with you in case you die and loose your stuff.

(am I forgetting anything?) Leave it in the comments and thanks for reading! :)

Easy Game Protection Guide! :)

To Back Up Your Worlds:
1. Download ifunbox to your computer
2. Once the program is set up, plug in your device that has the world.
3. Go to User Applications
4. Go to Blockheads
5. Go to Library
6. Go to Application Support
7. Go to Saves
8. Now go into the saves folder and using the program (once you have the program you will understand) copy all your saves to your computer. Put those saves in a folder to be tidy.
Now you have them backed up.
*Note* Must do this every time you have made new progress. Just delete the old folder first and copy the new saves to a folder on your computer.

To Retrieve Your Backed Up World:(when those griefers attack)
*Must have already done the above steps*
1. Plug in the device and make sure Blockheads has been exited completely
2. Delete the saves that are on the ifunbox after going to your Blockhead saves
3. Copy that folder's (I told you to have saved on your computer) contents back to the saves folder on ifunbox.
*You must copy each one individually back, no whole folders! You can quickly do this by selecting all the saves when prompted to copy*
4. Open blockheads on your device
Voila!
*If this does not work, tell me*

To Convert Saves to New Device:
*Pretty much the same as the above steps*
After having already put the saves in a folder on your computer, plug in the new device to ifunbox. Now follow the above steps.

If you have any problems, just leave it in the comments. I will try to help you.
If anyone has a different way, please post it below so all the different ways can be easily accessed. Thanks for reading! :)

Job idea's I use in my world! :)

I don't know if you want to add it to your list but I created a few jobs for people on my server by making workshops and employing them as:
1. Seamstress- Makes clothes. I made clothing displays out of two cabinets stacked on top of each other to model different clothing sets (Clothing sets of different colors were very popular), as well as shops, dye benches and tailor benches.
2. Chef - I made a cafe place called the "Coffee shop on your block", and painted it black and blue, then I installed a electric stove,a chest & a shop to create an industrial kitchen, and a dinning area in which I made dinning tables for people to eat.
3. Bouncer- I built a Party Club called "Lapiz", the Bouncer keeps an eye that no one griefs the club and behaves themselves.
4. Landscapers- These guys are an admins best friend. Hire people to continually fill in unsightly pits and knock down those ugly dirt huts the people love to build, but are not allowed to , as well as making sure there are plenty of trees and plants planted after the pot holes have been filled in.
5. Apartment Manager- After I build apartment buildings it's nice to know someone is looking after collecting the rent and making sure that the building is fixed up from greifers. Apartment Managers usually work best if they are paid a small salary, and live rent free on the top floor oft the apartment. They also need to leave an extra blockhead meditating at the lobby desk so that they can easily perform maintenance.
6. Trash Man/Woman- This person needs admin powers, but their main purpose is to collect the not allowed workbenches, trade portals, shops, and floater items, that get left lying around, and he/she collects it up and places the worthless stuff in their bin chest or places useful items to the local thrift shop.
Well I hope you liked my ideas and if I missed some out leave them in the comments! :) Thanks for reading! :)

Building Techniques + Tips from me! :)

When building a house you'll need to make sure there is enough space to fit chests/safes/cabinets inside of it. Don't go overboard in the size though, or you'll find you don't use half of your house. For me, a good sized house is about 3 to 4 stories tall and 7 blocks wide, but you can always add more space if you need to.With walls I generally make them 1 block wide but you can do more for grief defense.

Roofing Types
When building, there are 3 main roof types that I use. They are:

Triangular Roof
This roof is pretty simple. Basically, keep going up and right until you reach the center, then you head down and right. This is an example of not using the connector blocks.

Sloping Roof
This roof gives off a domed shape for your houses. It's very good for creating a large room at the top of the building without making it too large.

Flat Roof
This roof just goes straight across without any vertical room.

Interior Design
There is just a ton of ways to build the inside of a house. Here are just a few that I use myself more than others.

Pillar Usage
When building the inside of a house, having pillars as support beams for various tiers of the house can look quite nice although it can be very time consuming to make large amounts of pillars.

Staircases
Stairs can be a much less expensive solution to using elevators, but are slightly slower. There a bunch of ways to make a staircase, varying from a simple step to an actual spire.

To be continued! And Thanks for reading! :)

Seasons, fruits, and Tree guide! :)

Part 1: Seasons

Name: Seasons.png
Views: 1354
Size: 22.4 KB

Three trees can tell you the season. They are apple treescherry trees, and maple trees. Each season lasts one in-game day (15 minutes when not sped up) making a year an hour (four in-game days).

All four season have early and late stages. Since a season is a day, they pretty much map to day and night.

I use maple trees to tell the season because they live long. Apple trees also have distinct differences between seasons.

Part 2: Tree Identification

Name: Tree Identification Guide.png
Views: 2033
Size: 38.2 KB

What kind of tree is it? You could use this image to help. First, check the kind of trunk it has. Then check the kind of leaf it has. If it has fruit on it already, this won't help that much, as you should already know.

Also, some trees have other discerning characteristics, such as pine trees, which grow tall and naturally in a triangular shape.

Part 3: Fruit Spawn Seasons

Name: Fruit Spawn Guide.png

When will my tree have fruit? That's what this image is for. If you haven't already, figure out what kind of tree it is. Fruit may spawn during the season(s) marked with the red box.

Well I'm done here I hope you liked it and Thanks for reading!:)
